In an international event helded virtually from 14-18 July by ACS - Annual Green Chemistry and Engineering Conference - the Master's scholarship holder of the Graduate Program in Chemistry Allison Thomé had his research work selected for presentation in the Making Organic Chemistry More Sustainable session and received the Pharmaceutical Roundtable Student Travel Grant. With the award, he had his registration expenses for the current edition and travel expenses for the next in-person edition (2021) covered by the event. The work is co-authored by doctoral student Heitor A. Bazani and professors Ricardo F. Affeldt and Luiz F. Probst.
Allison Thomé was a student at the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, where he received a scholarship for Scientific Initiation in the laboratory of Professor Faruk Nome. He is currently developing his master's research under the guidance of prof. Ricardo Affeldt in the areas of green chemistry, heterogeneous catalysis and photochemistry.
